Salary: £33,199 - £39,609 per annum by annual increments dependant on achieving designated skills and experience

FTE: 1.0fte working 37 hours (or pro rata) per week

Duration of Contract: Fixed term contract of 12 months

Main duties & responsibilities

The successful applicant will contribute to the teaching of nutrition and dietetics to BSc students and work as part of module teams to plan and deliver teaching and undertake innovative and varied assessment. They will also contribute to the recruitment and admissions of new students.  Occasional placement visits and contributions to other programmes in the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences and other areas, e.g. healthcare and science programmes, may be required.  Other activities may include contributing to nutrition and dietetics curriculum development and / or commercial activity and participating in other academic activities within the School, Department and University as negotiated with the Dean of School / Head of Department.

Skills and experience needed

To undertake the role, you will have teaching, professional or research experience within the field of nutrition & dietetics. You will be motivated to teach and have effective communication and interpersonal skills.  We need someone who is hard working, flexible in their approach and ability to work as part of a team, with excellent interpersonal skills, able to multi-task and to meet deadlines. An outgoing disposition will be an asset, especially for recruitment and admissions activities.

Qualifications required

You will hold an MSc or above in a relevant science, and a qualification in nutrition, dietetics or related discipline at undergraduate level or above.  Holding a PhD and / or a qualification in learning and teaching in higher education would be desirable.
