Salary: £77,913 to £105,042 per annum pro-rata depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.
Applications are invited for the above post from medically-qualified doctors who seek integrated academic and clinical training for a clinical academic year based at the Education Centre, School of Medicine.
The successful candidate will assist the Course Director to deliver the MMedSci Medical Education curriculum through a variety of teaching and assessment activities and contribute to the ongoing annual quality improvement of the course. The role holder will join a small team and be expected to act as lead for a suite of modules worth at least 60 credits, design course materials and curricula, design and mark assessments and supervise dissertation projects. The role holder will also contribute to the Education Centre ‘train the trainers’ agenda as required. The role holder will also be expected to contribute to research in medical education and publish in peer reviewed journals.
Whilst no clinical component is offered with this role, it is a requirement that the role holder has a regular clinical commitment to enable revalidation with the GMC. Applicants will have discussions with their line manager to amend their job plan as appropriate and have the agreement of their line manager. This should not deter General Practitioners from applying.
The post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of 3 years.
