The position announced in this call for applications will strengthen research and teaching in the field “Digital Transformation”. The successful candidates will be invited to play an active role in the FAU key research priority “Electronics, Analytics and Digital Transformation”.

The Faculty of Engineering invites applications for a W1 professorship (assistant professor) in the Department of Electrical Engineering (EEI). Responsibilities include representing the field of semiconductor devices in research and teaching. The successful applicant is expected to expand and deepen the existing research and teaching activities of this subject at FAU. We encourage collaboration with the Leistungszentrum Elektroniksysteme (LZE) and the shared semiconductor laboratory of FAU and Fraunhofer IISB.

Successful candidates demonstrate initial academic achievements and the capacity for independent research at the highest international standards. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree as well as a passion for education and pertinent teaching experience, including the ability to teach in English, are also prerequisites.

FAU expects applicants to become actively involved in administering academic affairs and in developing strategic initiatives. FAU pursues a policy of intense student mentoring and therefore expects its teaching staff to be present during lecture periods.
