The Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH) contains world-renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching. The NDPH Wolfson Laboratories have over 40 staff and provide core laboratory services for the large-scale clinical trials and studies led by NDPH and its collaborators.

As Automated Chemistry Laboratory Manager, you will have responsibility for managing the day-to-day operations of the Automated Chemistry Laboratory of the NDPH Wolfson Laboratories using approaches compliant with the standards of ISO 17025. You will manage a laboratory team of 20+ staff, lead operational meetings, and support the day-to-day functions of the laboratory, including managing issues related to samples processing, staffing, technical problems, LIMS, resource management and quality. Key technical duties include method validation, documentation, performance monitoring and supporting non-conformity investigations and reports.

To be considered for this role, you will have a BSc Honours degree recognised by the IBMS or a BSc Honours degree in a biological discipline and relevant experience with extensive experience in the use and troubleshooting of high throughput clinical biochemistry and immunoassay analysers in a diagnostic or clinical research laboratory accredited to ISO 17025 or ISO 15189. You will also have exceptional communication, team working, organisational and problem solving skills.
