The School of Journalism and Communication (hereafter SJC) at Shanghai University is in the first-class tier of its kind nationwide in China with unique charms and strong potentials, aiming to cultivate top talents in the field of journalism and communication. Both Shanghai based and globally oriented, SJC aspires to develop into a world class school of journalism and communication with distinctive features and groundbreaking capacities, thus serving Shanghai’s comprehensive strategy towards rising up as a global city. 

SJC has established a comprehensive disciplinary system, including five undergraduate majors, which are New Media, Journalism, Radio and Television, Advertising, and Arts and Technology, and providing Doctoral, Master and Bachelor degrees and a Post-doctoral program in the discipline of journalism and communication.

Currently, SJC has 896 enrolled students: 490 undergraduate students, 339 Master students and 67 PhD students.

As an influential academic institution with distinctive characteristics, SJC ranked the tenth among all Chinese universities in the third round of disciplinary evaluation by the Ministry of Education (MOE) in 2012, on a par with Zhejiang University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Moreover, the result of the fourth round of disciplinary ranking by MOE in 2017 showed that SJC not only retained its perennially elite status, but also showed an upward momentum.

Vice Professor of Journalism and Communication

Qualifications

  1. Have published representative papers in authoritative academic journals;

  3. Have rich practical experiences and outstanding achievements in program organizing.

Lecturer of Journalism and Communication

Qualifications

  1. Have certain scientific research ability and academic research potentials;
  2. Have a strong sense of dedication and responsibility, and love education cause, academic research or creative work.
