Applications are invited for a part-time (0.4 FTE; 2 days per week) Research Fellow on a fixed-term contract of 12 months with flexible working time, starting in June 2019. The post will be based in the Department of Adult Nursing and Paramedic Science at the University of Greenwich working with Dr Paul Newton & Dr Lesley Dibley in collaboration with clinical colleagues at Barts Health NHS Trust. The work will involve managing the day to day delivery of a research project to explore the experiences of Black and Ethnic Minority (BME) patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Uniquely, the study seeks to recruit non-English speaking BME patients, who are vastly under-represented in research data but who have socio-cultural issues which influence their engagement with health care. Responsibilities will include day to day management of all aspects of the study, and therefore proven research experience and project management skills are required. There may be opportunity to continue working with the team on planned follow-up studies which this 12 month project will inform.

You should be bilingual (Bengali / English, Turkish / English or Somali / English), have a PhD in a health-related discipline OR have submitted your thesis and are awaiting viva, and have a track record of successful research project management and delivery.
