An Individual is sought for this full-time post, based in the Division of Surgery and Interventional Science laboratories. The postholder will be primarily based at our Royal Free campus but will also be required to cover our Stanmore Campus and Bloomsbury Campus if need arises. The main purpose of this role is to provide teaching, training and support to all staff, students, visitors and external users as required. The postholder will provide full laboratory support to all Academic staff and students of the Division. The Division of Surgery and Interventional Science is an exciting and dynamic environment and this post provides an excellent opportunity for the right applicant to develop and expand on a laboratory based career.

The postholder must have a good general education, ideally to BSc or MSc level or equivalent or having acquired substantial relevant experience using and maintaining Confocal, SEM or TEM equipment. Substantial experience of handling and preparing biological samples for analysis and imaging, substantial work experience in a research laboratory and a proven ability to teach laboratory techniques to students and advise on appropriate use of methodology and methodical problem solving are all essential. He/she will possess excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, the ability to manage their own workload through effective ordering of priorities and display good organisation ability and be able to set and work to deadlines and willingness to work under pressure from time to time in the meeting of deadlines.
