The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £35,328 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

Applications are invited for a Research Fellow in the Research Department of Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology at University College London (UCL).

This position provides an exciting opportunity to join a Medical Research Foundation-funded research project aiming to further our understanding of the aetiology of adolescent mental health. The project features data from major longitudinal cohorts and the application of advanced genetically informed causal inference designs. We are looking for an outstanding, high-potential, early-career researcher to contribute to the success of the project and make a substantial contribution to research in this area. The post-holder will benefit from an outstanding research environment in one of the world’s most prestigious universities, with great opportunities to gain training in cutting-edge longitudinal and genetic methods, and to extend their network of collaborators nationally and internationally.

This post is funded for 20 months, in the first instance.

The ideal candidate must have a PhD (or be in the process of completing their PhD) in a relevant subject area (e.g. genomics, psychiatric genetics or epidemiological and developmental psychiatry), possess excellent statistical modelling skills and, ideally, knowledge of genetic methods and software, and have a record of high quality publications.

Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at Research Assistant Grade 6B (salary £30,922-£32,607 per annum) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis.
