Suitably qualified researchers are invited to apply for a post-doc position focused on the molecular basis of Notch receptor signaling and downstream transcription factors, which link it to other pathways, in both angiogenesis and tumour growth. The overall aim of the project is: 1) To uncover new signal transduction mechanisms; 2) To identify and characterize novel inhibitors of these processes. We take a multidisciplinary approach including high throughput chemical screens, genetics, (bio)chemistry, cell biology, zebrafish/mouse models and mathematics/bioinformatics.

Requirements:

  • The candidate should (expect to) hold a PhD in (bio)chemistry or molecular cell biology
  • Expertise in biochemistry is essential
  • Experience of animal models is desirable
  • Candidates should be highly motivated with proven research abilities and an excellent publication record
  • Willingness and proven ability to work both independently and also collaboratively as part of a team

The department is equipped with state-of-art facilities for cell biology (including iPS technologies), microscopy, biochemistry, proteomics, genetics (including DNA editing) and biological chemistry.

Your gross salary will amount to € 3.403,- per month, based on the salary scale 10, level 4. You will be entitled to both a holiday allowance (amounting to 8% of your gross salary) as well as an end-of-year bonus (amounting to 8,3% of the gross salary).
