About the role
In this role you will support SEIS-UK’s objective of providing instrumentation and all necessary support to the UK Geophysics community to enable academic researchers to perform seismic fieldwork, anywhere around the world. You will maintain the equipment, undertake testing and diagnosing faults in systems and procedures as well as recovering data, analysis of results for quality control, and recommending conclusions.
In addition, you will ensure appropriate documentation is completed, this includes commercial invoicing, certification of goods and determining requirements for current and future stocks. You will also assist with field support and training of senior academics, researchers and PhD students in the use of SEIS-UK equipment.
With a first degree in Geology, Geophysics or Engineering, you have a proven ability to solve problems through postgraduate research or through field based experience. You will have experience of geophysical or geological fieldwork in which you have been able to plan and manage your time effectively.
