We are seeking a full-time (or part-time, minimum of 30 hours) Staff Development Manager to join the HR team at the Department of Engineering Science, Parks Road, Oxford. The position is permanent.
Reporting to the HR Manager in this newly created role, you will work closely with the HR team and also staff across the department. Building collaborative working relationships with the Head of Department, Head of Finance and Administration, Academics and line managers, division and university representatives involved in training and development and equalities and diversity. You will be key in assisting in the development of a culture within the Department that values training and career development. Designing and delivering training sessions and briefings to departmental staff.
You will also support the Department’s equalities and diversity activity including coordinating and providing support to the Department’s commitment to the Athena SWAN charter and other staff-related projects. This includes assisting with the preparation, collection of data and final production of the Department’s submission for the Athena Swan award in 2021.
You should be educated to a degree level or equivalent. Have demonstrable significant experience of working in a staff development or equality and diversity related role, with associated level of knowledge of issues pertaining to equality and diversity. You should be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and flexibly to deliver project goals within deadlines set by the department. Your strong oral and written communication skills will be important for this role.
