We are now seeking to appoint an outstanding researcher and leader for the post of Director of Research & Knowledge Exchange in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Education.
This role is central to the new organisational structure and the leadership of Research and Knowledge Exchange within this structure. The introduction of a College structure within the University is intended to support collaboration and innovation across the institution and at the same time achieve greater consistency and focus in the development of learning, teaching and student experience and of research and knowledge exchange.
The role of College Director of Research and Knowledge Exchange (RKE) reports to the Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor Research but also works directly and closely with Heads of School within the College as well as REF UoA coordinators and other colleagues within Schools to achieve University objectives. The post-holder will therefore require outstanding interpersonal and influencing skills together with a strategic mindset and a strong track record in leading research.
The post-holder will play a key role, not only in developing RKE within the College, by enhancing the quality and impact of research, increasing income from RKE and enabling the expansion of research student numbers but also in working with the DPVC Research, the University’s Research Office and Research School and other College Directors: to ensure the University meets its strategic RKE objectives; to promote cross-University collaboration; and to coordinate new strategic research initiatives.
Informal enquiries about the post are welcome: please contact Dr John-Paul Wilson (Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor Research) – email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 01905 542196.
