Postdoctoral Fellow - Teichmann Group

Wellcome Sanger Institute - Biological Sciences

The Teichmann Group is looking for postdoctoral fellow to join the team to carry out cell atlasing research, with a focus on cardiac cell type composition in health and disease at the single-cell level. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in both the wet and computational elements of this field.

Essential Skills

  • PhD in molecular biology, genomics or a relevant subject area
  • Demonstrated research experience as evidenced by publication record
  • Experience of working with human samples and human diseases
  • Experience in single cell genomics (e.g. scRNA-seq), including relevant experiments and data analysis
  • Good computational skills, covering Python, R or similar programming language
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas and results to collaborators and present orally to large groups
  • Excellent working knowledge of the literature and practical applications

Ideal Skills

  • Knowledge of cardiac biology and cardiology
  • Experience with next generation sequencing assays and relevant data analysis
  • Experience with spatial transcriptomics
  • Strong interest in transcriptional regulation in cardiac remodelling
