Operating at the leading edge of our academic disciplines in research, pedagogy and professional practice, we are looking for committed academic staff to deliver innovative research-led teaching programmes. A focus for all our academic staff is to maximise networks, build relationships with industry, for example to deliver Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, and internationalise our work.
As a forward thinking institution, Edinburgh Napier University is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Our gender pay gap is currently one of the lowest in the sector. We support flexible part-time working. As an inclusive employer, we actively encourage applications from women, ethnic minorities, people with disabilities and other underrepresented groups.

As a Lecturer in Web Technologies you will have expertise in web development, digital content development and interaction design. You will support the expansion of our undergraduate and postgraduate teaching portfolio to meet increasing demand for graduate skills and applied research in this area.

Developing your own interests in related emerging areas is also encouraged. Our ideal candidate must demonstrate enthusiasm for working with industry in applied research (for example, in our new user experience lab sensorium.soc.napier.ac.uk) and in the development of teaching to enhance the employability of our graduates.
A proven track record in research publications and income generation is essential. You will have the opportunity to contribute to research as a member of our Interaction Design & Creativity group or the User Experience & Evaluation group. You will be encouraged to engage and collaborate in interdisciplinary research with colleagues in other areas within the School and externally.
Depending on experience, you may also have the opportunity to work with colleagues delivering the higher education ambitions of the Edinburgh and South East Scotland City Deal, with its focus on data driven innovation.
