The Faculty of Social Science is seeking to appoint a Professorial Research Fellow to join the Institute for Sustainable Food, one of the University of Sheffield’s four new research flagships. We are seeking candidates with an outstanding research profile, exceptional promise and evidence of academic leadership.
During the Fellowship, the successful candidate will focus on enhancing their research profile, developing an innovative research agenda, contributing to the development of the Institute for Sustainable Food, pursuing opportunities for high profile external grants, producing an array of high quality publications and enhancing the impact of their research. The successful candidate will be provided with opportunities to apply their research experience and skills, taking a leadership role in one of the Institute’s three research pillars. They will also make a small but significant (20%) contribution to the work of the Department of Geography. Subject to satisfactory performance, the successful candidate will transition to a standard professorial role at the end of the three-year Fellowship.
This is a unique opportunity for an outstanding academic with real potential to drive forward their research career and develop their academic leadership skills. You will have a PhD (or equivalent experience) in a relevant subject area and a distinguished record of international research in high quality journals / monographs demonstrating clear excellence in sustainable food research.
