This is an exciting opportunity for a PhD qualified candidate to lead a project team to develop a real-time editorial resource for journalists and content creators. You will use Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to build innovative new products for digital publishing applications working in a collaborative team environment. 

This position is a 30 month fixed term contract, with £5000 dedicated training budget tailored towards your personal development and future career. 

Candidate Profile: You will have a PhD in Computer Science or Mathematics related subject

Key skills/ experience required include:

  • Application of Machine Learning/ Artificial Intelligence to multi-modal information retrieval
  • Deep Learning architectures e.g. Long Short- Term Memory networks  
  • Knowledge of Bayesian models for exploration and modelling of neural networks
  • Software development and programming skills in high level languages e.g. Python, particularly in an Agile development environment
  • Good analytical skills and a creative approach to problem solving

  • Strong organisational skills to take project ownership, co-ordinate work-streams and achieve agreed objectives
  • Self motivated & confident with good persuasion & negotiation skills
  • Fit in with the organisational culture and present a positive image of the company to clients

Aston University: You will work in a project team with Dr George Vogiatzis and Dr Diego Faria from Aston’s Computer Science department based in The School of Engineering and Applied Science, which undertakes cutting-edge research with real impact.

Location: You will be based predominantly at TRUE in central London, but will also have access to facilities at Aston University in central Birmingham. Some travel to key clients may also be required.
