Are you a motivated and enthusiastic nurse interested in progressing your career in clinical research?

The Oxford Vaccine Group (OVG) is seeking a registered nurse to provide leadership, management and support to a team conducting world-renowned vaccine research in healthy volunteers. This is a great opportunity for a registered nurse with research and/or management experience to develop a career in research.

OVG, which is based at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford, conducts world-leading research, creating new and optimising existing vaccines for children and adults. The Senior Research Nurse would be responsible for the clinical oversight of a portfolio of studies looking at diseases such as Ebola, RSV and Meningitis B and human challenge models testing typhoid and paratyphoid vaccines.

The Senior Research Nurse works as part of a management team to ensure that clinical staff are trained appropriately to deliver excellent quality research. You would be contributing to study design and protocol development, assessing trial feasibility, ensuring professional and ethical conduct, and providing oversight of study clinics.

We are seeking someone with experience in leadership and management and/or clinical research nursing. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are essential. Experience of working in both adult and paediatric nursing would be desirable.  The post holder would be expected to develop specialised skills and knowledge related to the conduct of clinical trials and vaccines. However, training and support will be provided.

Initially 12 months fixed term contract (37.5 hours per week), with likely extension dependent on funding.

The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on 18 October 2019. For informal enquiries or to discuss the post in more detail please contact Hannah Robinson, Clinical Delivery Lead on 01865 611400
