SHAPE THE POTENTIAL OF A DYNAMIC BUSINESS FACULTY
The University of Winchester presents a tempting employment prospect for those who are seeking an ambitious higher education organisation that is deeply ethical. Sustainability, social justice and inclusion are the foundations on which we are building our world-class reputation for value-led education. We want to play our part in developing a better world, so staff and students alike have committed to supporting our Sustainable Development Goals. These goals – which are based around the most urgent problems facing humankind – have been shaped with the intention of helping individuals and communities flourish.
We are currently at an important point in our history and development. Having recently invested £48million in the creation of new teaching and learning facilities, we are aligning our academic objectives with our desire to become more business-focused within the University. You will be central to this ambition as you lead the faculty and manage its development and expansion. The faculty benefits from an excellent reputation for learning and teaching, with immensely popular BA and BSc courses. You will build on this, working with the team to ensure we are offering a comprehensive portfolio of high-quality programmes that will appeal to a diverse undergraduate and postgraduate audience, both in the UK and to international students. With a close eye on emerging trends and knowledge, you will drive a far-reaching research agenda, promoting knowledge exchange and building partnerships that will benefit the University and our students.
As the public face of the Faculty this is a highly visible role. You will therefore excel if you are currently in a senior academic role, with experience of leading a team and managing a budget. Excellent communication skills are essential, and you will be a collaborative individual with a passion for enhancing the student experience. This will include experience of internationalisation, as we will ask you to support and develop our partner institution, ICBS, in Greece. Crucially, you will give equal weight to all disciplines, so you will be able to manage a conflicting workload and give every department the time it needs to really excel. With a strong academic reputation, you will either have a personal track record of research, or you will be active in knowledge exchange.
If this sounds like you, then we would like to talk to you. In the first instance contact Suzi Fox at TMP/Peoplescout, our recruitment partner on email@example.com and she will arrange to have an exploratory conversation with you either week commencing 7th October or 14th October.
Closing deadline for applications to Suzi Fox is midnight on Sunday 20th October 2019. Applications consist of a CV and a separate ‘supporting statement’ evidencing how you meet the essential criteria as laid out in the Person specification (in no more than 2 pages of A4).
