About the role
You will undertake teaching, marking and supervision on behalf of the School of Criminology. Your main role will be to support the delivery of modules on our campus-based suite of programmes in a manner commensurate with our commitment to providing an outstanding student experience. You will also work closely with our student body and with academic colleagues to support the continued success of the School’s teaching programmes.
Leicester is one of the very few universities in the country which is dedicated to teaching and researching criminology.
Our students benefit from learning in an environment that is home to some of the UK's leading criminologists. We are a first point of contact for journalists needing information and advice on crime issues, and are regularly called upon by national and local governments to assist with policy development. We are committed to offering learning experiences that are challenging, richly supported and engaging, and to conducting research that is innovative and transformative.
We are a research-intensive, multi-disciplinary community of criminologists who shape international policy and scholarship. For more than thirty years we have demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, enterprise and training.
With a PhD in Criminology, you will have a good knowledge across a range of criminological topics. You will have the motivation to provide our students with the best experience possible, offering quality learning support in a variety of group sizes. You will have the ability to effectively plan your own work whilst providing support to the wider team.
For informal enquiries, please contact Professor Neil Chakraborti on firstname.lastname@example.org.
We anticipate that interviews will take place during week commencing 9 December 2019.
