The role

The incoming academics will contribute to the design and delivery of modules across a range of our existing and new academic programmes. In particular, some of the appointees will contribute to the suite of Degree Apprenticeship programmes being launched in partnership with our corporate partners. These programmes offer the opportunity to work with young professionals in establishing their banking career, based in full time work, and bringing academic knowledge to work through blended learning delivery methods.

Candidates are expected to have core knowledge relating to one or more of the following: Asset Pricing, Auditing, Banking, Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance, Corporate Law, Financial Accounting, FinTech, Investment Analysis and Taxation, Investment Management and Securities Operations, Risk Management, IT in Investment Operations, Financial Modelling, FinTech in Investment Management

Department of Finance and Accounting continues to attract candidates from all over the world and has a distinguished network with professionals working in the City of London and financial institutions worldwide.

Candidates are expected to be internationally respected academics or professionals, who have significant industry experience and are exposed to the latest industry trends and techniques in finance.

About you

  • Possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a PhD (or nearing completion) in Finance and/or Accounting or an equivalent qualification in Finance or Accounting
  • And/Or instead of a PhD, possess specialist knowledge and skills from significant professional experience in a Finance/Accounting/Business related discipline and demonstrate relevant knowledge in the academic area in order to teach and support learning on Finance/Accounting related modules
  • Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students;
  • Will have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review and have made an impact at discipline programme level beyond their own teaching;
