The opportunity

We are seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Economics to deliver teaching (not research) and scholarship duties including the following: Module leadership, design of course material and assessment, lecture and tutorial delivery, dissertation supervision, marking and planning and administrating department resources.  The successful candidate will be a committed educator that engages and inspires students.

The subject areas we seek specific expertise in are Maths and Statistics for Economics and Business, Macroeconomics and Finance.

About you

For a Lecturer post you will:

  • Possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist and core knowledge in the discipline, demonstrated by a PhD (Lecturer or nearing completion, Senior Lecturer - essential) or equivalent in a relevant subject area to develop teaching programmes, and teach and support learning;
  • Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities;
  • Will have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review and have made an impact at discipline programme level beyond their own teaching;
  • Be expected to work towards Fellow of the HEA status and to attend formal CPD relating to this.

In addition, for Senior Lecturer post you will:

  • Have a consistent track record of excellent teaching across a variety of modules and levels within your discipline as might be expected of a very experienced HE Teacher.
  • Contribute to the design, development and delivery a range of modules or programmes at various levels; applying innovative and appropriate teaching techniques; identifying sources of funding and securing funds for own scholarly activities and providing academic leadership to those working within programme areas.

Salary details: Lecturer will be from £35,845 to 46,718 on Grade F. Senior Lecturer will be from £45,361 up to £59,135 on Grade G, (Offers are based on qualifications and experience)
