Applications are invited for the above post in the Faculty of Science & Engineering which is one of the newest divisions at the University but is expected to become one of the biggest as the University rolls out its detailed, long term plans. The University expects to triple its number of engineering students to over 3,000 within the next few years. The first intake of UNNC engineering students graduated in 2012 and Master of Science degrees will be offered in a range of subjects in the near future. 

The successful candidate must hold a CIBSE recognised (or equivalent) degree and PhD in field related to Building Engineering, Building Physics, or Building Services. Candidate who has ideally 3+ year experiences in teaching is preferred. Evidence of ability to conduct research at an international level is essential and the ability to attract funding for major research projects is a distinct advantage. Experience of teaching and tutorial or laboratory work at undergraduate and postgraduate level in an international English-speaking institution is also essential. It is expected that applicants will have a successful track record in building physics practice, or a well-defined research agenda, and that they will be able to substantially contribute to the preparation and delivery of teaching in the following areas:

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching and curriculum development for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of Architectural Environment Engineering, to play a lead role in collaborative research projects and conduct ongoing original research and publications in the areas of architectural engineering and building services/physics. The successful candidate will also join as a member of the Centre for Sustainable Energy Technologies (CSET) and Sustainable Built Environment (SBE) research group. 

Salary will be within the range of £36,914 – £49,553 per annum depending on skills and experience (salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance). In addition, an attractive package including accommodation allowance, travel allowance and insurance will be provided for international appointments.

The post will initially be offered on a fixed term contract with the University of Nottingham Ningbo China for a period of 5 years starting September 2020 or as soon as thereafter. This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement.
