Hanken School of Economics (in short: Hanken) is a leading, top-5 university-level business school in Scandinavia – featuring the “triple-crown” accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA). We offer you
A salaried position for the first 2 years in the programme. For years 3-4 in the programme, we will support you in finding funding from externally funded research projects or scholarships. We do not charge any tuition fees for the studies in the 4-year programme. The studies are full-time.
Specifically, you can complete the PhD degree in one of the following majors:
The programme entails 4 years of full-time studies, with a flexible structure: 60 ECTS credits of coursework and a doctoral thesis.
Who you are
We welcome applications from research-oriented students holding a Master’s degree; Masters with other than business study background are also warmly welcomed to apply (e.g., masters in statistics, psychology, systems analysis, industrial engineering). The PhD studies are in English (Finnish or Swedish language is not needed in studies).

Note, that although the majors welcome applications from Masters of a variety of disciplines, most majors require the applicant to have some background studies/courses done within the major (or related to the major).
If your eligibility qualifying degree is completed in the EU/EEA, and you have a GPA (grade point average) of at least B (US grading scale) or Good, you do not have to submit a GMAT/GRE result. If you have completed your qualifying degree outside the EU/EEA you still need to submit a GMAT/GRE test.
