Postdoctoral Position in Economics, Specializing in Migration, and/or Family Economics, and/or Economic History

IESEG School of Management

Lille Economics and Management (LEM, CNRS) and IÉSEG School of Management invite applications for a 18-months, fully funded Postdoctoral position in Economics with the emphasis on migration, family economics and economic history at its Paris campus starting in September 2020.

The postdoctoral researcher will join a team to work on the research project MALYNES (Migration And Labour supplY wheN culturE matterS), whose objective is to predict the future effects of migration on labor supply in the European Union, by modelling the effect of culture and family decisions on the labor supply decision of individuals. The project is in collaboration with researchers from University of California Davis and Paris School of Economics.

Qualifications

  • The candidate will have a Ph.D. (or be close to completion) in economics. He/she is expected to possess strong empirical and analytical skills and have a commitment to research excellence.
  • Applicants should be completely fluent in English. Prior knowledge of French is not required.
  • Experience in conducting applied research using both either empirical or structural econometric methods is requested.
  • A research background in labor economics and/or cultural economics will be considered a very valuable asset.

Working Conditions 

The selected applicant is expected to begin his/her assignment in September 2020. The appointment is for 18 months. Gross salary will be competitive with other European research and academic institutions. The researcher will be based in Paris (on the site of IÉSEG School of Management).

Research Team

The candidate will be working directly with Profs. Thomas Baudin, Simone Moriconi and will benefit from interactions with the MALYNES international research team.
