The Global Academic Foundation hosts the Egyptian Branch Campus of the University of Hertfordshire, and is seeking to appoint vibrant, creative and inspirational tutors to join our thriving Academic English Department. We offer world-class British Education in the New Administrative Capital of Egypt bringing globally accredited bachelor’s degrees from the UK to Egypt. Our students come from diverse backgrounds to initially study our 1-year International Foundation Programme.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to join the team at the UH Egyptian Branch Campus on a full-time permanent contract. You’ll join a friendly and supportive team that has a variety of different teaching experiences. Working in the contemporary Campus, you will be given the chance to teach in modern facilities, delivering our bespoke Academic English curriculum.

This a unique experience that offers variety, opportunity, and a fast pace. To get the most from this position you should have strong work ethic and be a self-starter that can hit the ground running. If the idea of working in an overseas branch of a UK university seems appealing, then this is a fantastic job opportunity to really make a difference to students from a different culture. On the new UH Campus, the students are often away from their family and will be faced with the transition to a new culture, lifestyle, and learning environment. We strive to create a better world through education and we value professional Tutors that share the same passion for education and student experience.

In this job, you’ll deliver our Academic English module provision on our International Foundation Year programme. Our class sizes average 20 students, giving you the opportunity to be innovative whilst providing an engaging learning experience. You’ll have the opportunity to also assist the students with their academic skills, and exam preparation along with their language skills and will have assessment responsibilities.

  • You will be a student-centered Tutor, with experience teaching Academic English in a higher education environment either abroad or in the UK.
  • A DELTA or Master’s in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, or equivalent is desirable.
  • A CELTA and experience are also considered valuable.
  • If you have taught on pre-sessional programmes this would be advantageous.
  • You’ll be proficient in the use of learning technologies.

The University of Hertfordshire is one of the top 200 Universities under 50 years old in the world and has a Gold Rating in the UK Teaching Excellence Framework. The goal of UH is to empower students through transformational education and research. The University aims to transform students as learners and professionals, enabling them to play their part in the global economy by challenging and innovating business thinking.  Global Academic Foundation is proud to have partnered with UH to deliver a broad range of programs at its international branch campus in Egypt.
