Our Learning and Organisational Development team provide the support and delivery to the University’s HR People Plan, by designing and delivering effective solutions to identify learning, organisational design and development requirements. We are expanding our team significantly in 2020 so we are seeking an inspiring, proactive and enthusiastic individual as Senior Business Partner.

The Senior L&OD Business Partner leads and manages an integrated team of professionals taking a strategic and specialised approach to University-wide interventions and solutions incorporating both people development and process improvement at all levels across the University.

You will be a member of the HR Management Team, contributing to the development and delivery of the People Strand of the UH Strategic Plan 2020-2025. You will provide leadership in staff learning, development strategies and design alongside organisational design and change initiatives. Enabling and promoting a learning culture, focusing on long-term planning, and maximizing the use of technology to deliver is core. The team that you lead will create, develop and deliver training courses, so you will build and maintain excellent working relationships with various stakeholders. You will set and deliver the standards required for leadership, management, personal and professional progression, You will be accountable for oversight of the University’s appraisal system and identify opportunities for performance improvement, including reviewing, analysing, and conducting external research into best practice and ideas.

You will have substantial expertise in delivering effective leadership, management and organisational development in a large organisation. With experience of working with senior managers to facilitate and deliver organisational change, you will bring knowledge of learning theories, programme delivery, change management and staff surveys. You’ll have good knowledge of project management tools and techniques, and demonstrable leadership and management capabilities including budget management.

As the expert lead when setting courses of action, you will have the ability to gain the confidence of others, successfully building working relationships with stakeholders. You will have excellent influencing and negotiating skills, as an excellent communicator in both verbal and written form. You will be able to design and deliver effective programmes and presentations, using technology as appropriate, managing conflicting demands and priorities. Using qualitative and quantitative data to inform the L&OD work programme, having coaching, mentoring and facilitation skills are essential.

Qualifications: Good honours degree or equivalent substantial proven work experience, also accredited or hold an equivalent L&OD professional qualification. Accredited or demonstrate equivalent experience in areas such as process improvement / organisational design / leadership and management and personal development including coaching.
