The Department of Archaeology seeks to appoint a Teaching Associate in Mesopotamian Archaeology for one year, part-time at 0.5 FTE, to start on 1st October 2020. The successful applicant will be responsible for co-ordinating and teaching Mesopotamian Archaeology for the Archaeology and Assyriology Tripos and MPhil degrees, within a thriving, world-leading Department with strong commitment to the teaching in these fields. Other responsibilities include assessment and examining and supervision of undergraduate and MPhil dissertations.
Candidates will need to show evidence of the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Doctorate (or clear evidence that a doctorate will be in hand by the start date of the appointment) in a relevant aspect of Mesopotamian studies.
- Ability to teach Mesopotamian archaeology, history and culture at undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Ability to work co-operatively with academic colleagues and support staff.
- Publications and participation in scholarly activity commensurate with stage of career.
