The Department of Civil Engineering at University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) seeks to fill academic positions at the level of Assistant Professor. The position is open to candidates with research interests in the field of Civil Engineering.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching and curriculum development for undergraduate and postgraduate programs, and conduct ongoing original research for publications. The post is required for teaching support in any core civil engineering subjects. Applicants with expertise in Structures, Hydraulics, Geotechnics, and Construction Management will be considered with priority given to those who have the ability and willingness to teach in multiple disciplines within civil engineering.

Candidates must have a PhD in Structural Engineering or related discipline. Experience of teaching and tutorial work in relevant subjects at undergraduate level in an international English-speaking institution is also preferable. The role holder will be mainly expected to contribute to the teaching and research of the Department. 

Salary will be within the range RMB411,197 – RMB541,469 per annum depending on skills and experience (salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance). This post is available from 1 September 2020 and will initially be offered on a fixed-term contract with the University of Nottingham Ningbo China for a period of one year.
