This is an exciting time to join Salford University’s newly established MediaCity Directorate. As part of our on-going development strategy, the Broadcast Media team is seeking a Lecturer in Animation. You will join a growing department where students are encouraged to produce work to festival level.
The post is particularly suitable for a candidate with knowledge and experience of delivering academic programmes in 2D animation practices, supported by significant industry/professional engagement in the field. You should be committed to bringing an industry-informed approach to teaching undergraduate students, and to developing new learning opportunities for them.
In this teaching-focused role you will be expected to deliver an outstanding student experience informed by the latest thinking and practice; you will also have an opportunity to engage in the research and enterprise activity of this team. Academic and professional competencies are important together with the ability and willingness to teach and supervise students at all levels. High level administrative and organisational skills are also vital, as the role will bring with it a range of academic support and development responsibilities.
The position offers an ambitious candidate the opportunity to play an important role in the shaping of the future development of Animation at Media City, including the development of Post Graduate studies.
We offer flexible working patterns, enabling our colleagues to accommodate work life balance. Please note, this vacancy closes at 23:59 on the date specified. As we are committed to the principles of the Race Equality and Athena SWAN Charters, we would particularly welcome applications from women and the black and minority ethnic (BAME) community, who are both currently under-represented at this level.
