Section: Industry Programme
The Royal Society is seeking a talented individual to support the successful delivery of the Society’s Science and Industry Programme. The Royal Society is committed to innovative scientific research wherever it is found – making use of its convening power, the Society brings leading scientists and industrialists together to build relationships, facilitate translation, and engage fully in the life of the Society.
We are looking for a Programme Manager to help take our science, industry and translation programme to the next stage. The Industry Programme Manager must have experience of working in, or with, industry research and development teams or in a university or technology organisation with a track record of translating research ideas into commercial products. The individual must have excellent networking skills and highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate across different stakeholder groups including industry, academia and government. They will also be highly organised with a demonstrable track record of delivering complex projects.
The role will involve supporting the team in the planning and delivery of the industry and innovation programme. This will include working with Fellows of the Society with industry connections, scientists working in industry, scientists with translation interests and partner organisations who share the same aims. It will also involve working with colleagues in the Society to ensure that the industry voice is incorporated across the Society’s activities, including in the advice it provides to policy makers and its STEM education programmes.
This is an exciting opportunity to support a growing programme and to work as part of a dynamic and creative team.
Closing date for applications: 25 October 2020; interviews will take place in November.
