Initially, the appointment is limited to five years and will be as temporary civil servant (provided that requirements are met). Subject to a positive evaluation after four years, the position will be transferred into a tenured professorship (W3). Evaluation criteria will be determined during the appointment process.

The position holder is expected to engage in cooperative research both within and outside the University and to raise third-party funding, also benefitting from an established network of partner institutions. Within the faculty, a willingness for interdisciplinary cooperation with the "Diginomics" graduate group and contributions to the further development of the group in research, teaching and transfer are required. The professorship will take on a leading role in the newly established Master’s program in Management Information Systems.
The holder of the position should be nationally and internationally recognized in research in the areas mentioned above. Teaching responsibilities cover Bachelor and Master-level courses in the faculty’s own degree programs and in the program “Management Information Systems” offered in conjunction with the Faculty of Mathematics / Computer Science, as well as training and supervising PhD students. The position holder will be encouraged to obtain training in higher-education teaching skills. Teaching obligations will be in English or German and English; an appropriate level of proficiency is expected.
Applicants are required to hold a university degree with a relevant focus, a PhD degree in their respective fields, further scientific achievements in the field to warrant the appointment as professor (such as a higher doctorate, successful evaluations at the assistant professor stage or a substantial publication record), pedagogical aptitude and didactical engagement. The appointment follows the regulations of §§ 18 and 18a BremHG as well as §116 BremBG.
