Tenure-Track Professor (f/m/d)

in the Faculty of Business Studies and Economics for the field of
Production and Complex Services

Initially, the appointment is limited to three years and will be as temporary civil servant (provided that requirements are met). After an interim evaluation with orientation function it will be extended for another three years. Subject to a positive final evaluation after six years at the latest, the position will be transferred into a tenured professorship (W2).
The University of Bremen offers an ideal academic environment for the establishment of disciplinary and interdisciplinary collaboration. The position holder is expected to engage in cooperative research both within and outside the University and to raise third-party funding, also benefitting from an established network of partner institutions. Within the university, there are excellent opportunities for cooperation in the profile areas of “materials sciences and technologies” and “minds, media, machines”. Within the faculty, a willingness for interdisciplinary cooperation with the "Diginomics" graduate group and contributions to the further development of the group in research, teaching and transfer are required.
The job holder should show the potential of publishing research in leading national and international journals and use innovations in teaching to develop an own profile in the subject. Teaching responsibilities cover Bachelor and Master-level courses in the faculty’s own degree programs and in the programs “Management Information Systems” and “Management and Engineering”, which are offered in conjunction with other faculties, as well as training and supervising PhD students. The position holder will be encouraged to obtain training in higher-education teaching skills. Teaching obligations will be in English or German and English; an appropriate level of proficiency is expected.
Applicants are required to hold a university degree with a relevant focus, a PhD degree in their respective fields, further scientific achievements in the field to warrant the appointment as professor (such as a higher doctorate, successful evaluations at the assistant professor stage or a substantial publication record), pedagogical aptitude and didactical engagement. The appointment follows the regulations of §§ 18 and 18a BremHG as well as §117 BremBG.
Applicants who obtained their doctorate in Bremen must have held employment in another university after completion of their doctorate or worked outside the university for a period of at least two years. Previous postgraduate employment in German universities and research institutions cannot exceed six years at the time of appointment (see § 117 BremBG).
