Information Services Division

The Research IT Services department develops, delivers and operates a range of computational and data services to support UCL’s research community.

The Head of IOE Research IT leads a range of computationally intensive research activities across the 40 research units of the Institute of Education (IOE), UCL’s world leading educational institute. This includes close interworking with those research groups to deliver excellent research, as well as leadership and co-ordination for information governance for the IOE and its associated projects.

The applicant should demonstrate evidence of delivering world-leading IT services, or infrastructure, to meet research demands. A successful track record in project and people management, as well as knowledge and experience of secure computing environments and data governance (eg ISO27001) is key to this role.

The appointee will be responsible for working with researchers and teams within ISD to deliver and improve research IT services such as the UCL Data Safe Haven and similar platforms. The post holder will be expected to hold a relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.
