1. About Us
With 40 years of development, the School of Information Management at Sun Yat-sen University is an important base for scientific research and talent cultivation in the area of library, information and archives management. It is also the only school that fully covers the first-level discipline of library, information and archives management, offers PhD programmes, and set a post-doctoral research station in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The School of Information Management is located in the Guangzhou East Campus of Sun Yat-sen University. It contains three disciplinary areas, namely Library Science, Information Science, and Archives Management, and ranks 4th in ShanghaiRanking's Best Chinese Subjects Rankings in 2019.
The school currently has 34 full-time faculties and 7 research associates and post-doctors, together with 56 PhD students, 293 master students and 536 undergraduate students. The courses of Library Science and Archive Science have been respectively selected as national and provincial first-class undergraduate specialty construction points. Three undergraduate courses (namely, Information Management and Information Systems, Library Science, Archival Science) and three postgraduate courses (namely, Information Science, Library Science, Archival Science) have gained CILIP accreditation. The School is also part of the iSchools movement and voting member of IFLA and ICA, and so have good international reputation.
To follow the past and herald the future, at the new starting point, the School of Information Management, together with our talents, will pursue the goal of building a world-class discipline of library, information and archives management with Chinese characteristics.

4.Remunerations and Benefits
I. Salary and Benefits: The University provides generous salary, research start-up fee, talent allowance, and settlement allowance. Talents working in Zhuhai and Shenzhen campuses can enjoy subsidies of the local campuses.
II. Housing Support: Talents can apply for the university's public rental housing. There are 1,200 new apartments in the Guangzhou campus; more than 1,000 new apartments and 1,500 new shared property houses in the Zhuhai campus; and 3,600 new talent indemnificatory apartments in the Shenzhen campus.
III. Quality Healthcare: There are 10 SYSU affiliated hospitals that provide high-level healthcare service.
IV. Children Education: SYSU has constructed affiliated primary and secondary schools and kindergartens in Guangzhou, Zhuhai and Shenzhen campuses to provide high-quality elementary education for the children of faculty members.
