An opportunity has arisen to join the Management Accounts Team within the University's Central Finance Department, in the post of Accounting Technician (Innovation) to cover a period of Maternity leave. Reporting to the Management Accountant, the post holder will predominately provide financial support for ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) and other EU (European Union) funded projects. Often working in conjunction with other delivery partners to ensure compliance with specific funding and reporting regulations.

The post holder will also work with colleagues across the organisation to facilitate both pre and post award functions for new funding applications.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working within the finance department of a large complex organisations, have an insight into the processes that support complex grant claims and administration, they should be familiar with using computerised accounting systems and spreadsheets to create management information. Experience of the accounting principles used for costing external bids would also be advantages. Excellent communication skills and being an effective team player with the ability to cope with pressure associated with tight deadlines, are essential to succeed in this role.
