We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a new Assistant Director of IT Infrastructure at Cardiff University.

The University’s ambitious Way Forward strategy is underpinned by a strong aspiration for digital transformation, and we are now looking to appoint an innovative and collaborative IT leader as our new Assistant Director of IT Infrastructure. This senior position sits within the University IT department, with responsibility for delivering the range of IT Infrastructure services which support teaching, learning and research, and which enable the day-to-day operation of the University and enhance the student experience. We are looking for someone with demonstrable strategic level experience of architecting, designing and delivering University IT Infrastructure, while also ensuring that services are customer-focused, highly available, sustainable, innovative, secure and offer an attractive value proposition for the University.  

Candidates will need to be natural investors in people and teams, demonstrate significant senior IT management experience and knowledge across all IT, and have a track record of innovation, attainment and success gained in an organisation of comparable size and complexity.  

Cardiff University will offer an attractive salary, commensurate with experience, for a highly talented postholder. Cardiff offers 37 days per annum of annual leave plus bank holidays, and a USS Retirement Income Builder (RIB) pension. Relocation expenses (up to a maximum of £8,000) will be available for candidates moving to Cardiff.
