From May 2021, University of South Wales (USW) will be working in partnership with QA Higher Education (QAHE) to deliver an International Pathway College at the Cardiff and Ponrypridd campus. 

The distinctiveness of QAHE’s Pathway strategy is the provision of market leading education services to international students to enable them to progress directly to our University Partners. 

To launch this new partnership, QAHE is has an exciting position to establish the College on the University Campus as the Head of USW Pathway. The Pathway will launch with two programmes an International Foundation and International Year (Business).

What will you be doing? As the Head of Pathway, you will be responsible for the implementation of QAHE’s Pathway strategy to assure student academic success which maximises student progression to undergraduate degrees at the USW. As the most senior member of QAHE on the university campus, you will represent QAHE and lead the Pathway in all aspects of the student journey.

Your focus:

Relationship Management

  • To work collaboratively with University and QAHE senior stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
  • To ensure that Pathway students are embedded into University services.
  • To develop and sustain strategic collaborative relationships which maximise future opportunities and growth.

Pathway Management

  • To provide strong academic leadership to all teaching teams
  • To create a supportive and friendly environment for international students that encourages their progression to USW main campus.

Performance Management

  • To maximise pass rates and University progression rates.
  • To be responsible for the operational efficiency of academic programme delivery, business assets and human resources
  • To monitor, maintain excellent compliance requirements.

Bring your experience:

  • Management of academic and programme support teams
  • Managing projects to deliver student outcomes
  • Programme and module development and enhancement.
  • Managing, developing, inspiring and motivating staff to build high performance teams
  • Experience of working in collaborative partnerships in the HE sector.

Your Qualifications: TEFLQ status (DELTA, MA in TESOL plus a CELTA or equivalent qualifications to equate to TEFLQ
