UCL Physics and Astronomy is among the top departments in the UK for this subject area: UCL is consistently placed in the global top 20 across a wide range of university rankings – and is currently 8th in the QS World University Rankings 2020 and 4th in the UK for Physics and Astronomy. The post holder will be required to manage all matters relating to research administration, including use of the UCL Oracle Financial system and Worktribe for the department. S/he will specialise in administering the departmental research activities, ensuring effective procedures are documented and adopted for dealing with all aspects of financial transactions. The post will lead in achieving a high quality and timely service to staff, students and others internal and external to the department. 

The post is open-ended. 

Knowledge of research funding processes and regulations within a HE/research environment. 

Experience of providing administrative assistance in the preparation of research funding applications. 

Knowledge of financial processes and regulations associated with general financial administration. 

Proven effective service in a customer service environment. 

Experience of providing administrative assistance in the preparation of research funding applications. 

Computer literacy and familiarity with the Microsoft suite of software to an advanced level in Word, Email, Outlook and the internet.
