We have an exciting opportunity for a highly capable Systems Developer.
The successful candidate will join the Identity and Access Management (IAM) Team as a Systems Developer. The team is responsible for the key identity, registration, provisioning and authentication services on which the University depends for authorised access to systems, resources and buildings. The post offers the opportunity to develop new and existing IAM capabilities in partnership with other IT Services teams, data practitioners and University stakeholders.
We are seeking applicants with proven abilities in software development and systems design, with excellent communication skills and a good understanding of the practice of the software development lifecycle. Strong programming skills, as well as working knowledge of two or more database platforms, e.g. Postgres and MongoDB will be essential, as well as strong SQL skills, a good understanding of data serialization formats, and demonstrable knowledge of best practices around data management, data protection, and data privacy. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about working in an expert team where quality of service, attention to detail, and a willingness to respond positively to new challenges are all important. Good interpersonal and organisational skills are essential.
While this post is advertised at Grade 8 (£41,526 - £49,553 pa), we would be prepared to offer it at a lower grade (Grade 7, £32,817 - £40,322 pa) to a candidate with less experience who demonstrated clear potential. While this is a full-time post, we also welcome applications from candidates who wish to work part-time (minimum 30 hours/0.8 FTE) and/or flexibly. The postholder will be based at IT Services, 13 Banbury Road, Oxford.
You will be required to upload a CV and a supporting statement as part of your online application.
