About the role

We are looking for a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering to join the School of Engineering at the University of Leicester. You will be expected to undertake research in the School of Engineering, and your research field must have the prospect of attracting sufficient funding to be self-sustaining and you will be expected to actively seek such funding.

You will also be expected to undertake teaching across a range of engineering courses as well as performing administrative duties. A particular expectation is that you will contribute to the delivery of teaching in China under the auspices of the Dalian Leicester Institute. You will join other colleagues as part of our ‘flying faculty’ team who will travel to China and deliver intensive teaching in short blocks of time for up to 15 weeks per year.

About you

You will hold a PhD and postdoctoral research experience in an area relevant to the activity of the School of Engineering. You will also hold a high quality publication profile and be able to evidence your potentially fundable research ideas. Ideally you will have experience in the delivery of teaching to undergraduates and evidence of supervision/co-supervision of PhD students in a research-led environment.
