About the Faculty:

The Faculty of Business is the largest faculty within the University of Wollongong in Dubai. The Faculty offers undergraduate, postgraduate and postgraduate research programs in a variety of disciplines including, HR & Management, International Business, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Economics, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Luxury Management, Applied Finance, Banking, and Accounting.

UOWD is seeking applications from candidates to fill the position of a full-time Assistant Professor in Human Resource Management to commence preferably in January 2022.

Position Profile:  

The position of Assistant Professor – Human Resource Management exists to provide academic quality within the University by maintaining high standards of excellence in teaching, research and administration and in the undertaking of professional/community service activities relevant to the profession or discipline.

To be successful in this position, you must have a Ph.D. in Human Resource Management or a closely related field from an internationally recognized University. Candidates should show a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in teaching various subjects in the discipline, with a particular focus on contemporary themes in HR, including HR Analytics, Compensation & Benefits. The candidate must also have a profile that demonstrates engagement with research and practice in the discipline.

Qualifications:

To qualify for the above role, the candidate must have the following qualifications:

  • PhD. in Human Resource Management (or related discipline) from a recognized international academic institution
  • Teaching experience in contemporary areas of HR, at an internationally recognized institution
  • An active researcher in the field (or related field) with publications in recognized international journals. Publications should be ranked according to the Australian Business Deans’ Council ranking available here: http://www.abdc.edu.au/master-journal-list.php
  • Strong evidence of practice impact in HR (such as through consulting and executive development)
  • Fluency in the English language (both spoken and written).

All Faculty members will be required to support the University's Higher Degree Research (HDR) programs.
