The role

As part of a strategic investment in the area of Sustainability and the Smart Environment, we seek two Lecturers aligned to sustainability, environmental engineering, environmental systems & monitoring, and future smart and adaptive applications or related areas.

The successful candidates will contribute to the development of new environmental engineering/environmental systems curriculum and help with the delivery of existing environment-related modules. They will join an energetic and committed team delivering distance-learning qualifications to diverse, motivated students.

You should be research active in one or more of the following fields: environmental engineering, environmental management, environmental systems, and sustainability. You may have gained this experience in an academic position or in industry, consultancy or government. You will be supported to secure external research, enterprise and scholarship funding, publish in high-ranking peer reviewed journals and contribute to future Research Excellence Framework (REF) submissions.

As an academic member of staff in the School of Engineering & Innovation you will be based at Walton Hall, Milton Keynes.

You will have a Masters degree or a good Honours Degree (or equivalent) in environmental engineering, environmental management, environmental systems, sustainability or a closely related area. A PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline is desirable. Experience of teaching at university level is also desirable, as is membership of an appropriate professional body.

The principles of equality and diversity will be evident in all aspects of your work. Experience of online and/or distance education would be an advantage.
