We are seeking to appoint an exceptional academic leader into the role of Head of Teaching and Learning. As Head of Teaching and Learning, you will play a leading role in supporting the University’s objective to be recognised for inspiring, expert and innovative teaching, both on campus and online, which is learner focussed, inclusive and drives improvement in academic quality measures. You will be responsible for driving and implementing significant changes in our approach to teaching and learning policies and practice and will monitor the effectiveness of teaching and learning across the University. Working closely with senior leaders in faculty and professional services, you will ensure that effective practice is identified and disseminated, and that action is taken to improve teaching excellence where necessary.
The Head of Teaching and Learning leads and coordinates the continuous development of academic staff in relation to their teaching, learning and assessment practices. This includes oversight of the University’s HEA recognised Professional Teaching Scheme, the Post Graduate Certificate/Diploma in Academic Practice and coordination, with Faculty staff, of the Higher Degree Apprenticeship in Academic Practice. The role must ensure that institutional priorities are addressed, and that the quality of teaching meets and surpasses minimum expectations.
It is anticipated that interviews will be held week commencing 11th October 2021.
