The Management School has an exciting opportunity for a proven thought leader and researcher with a distinguished publication record at a world-leading level to join us as Chair International Business/ International Business Strategy. You should have significant experience in winning external research funding, with an ambition to grow a critical mass of funding and resources and to provide intellectual direction for research appropriate to the position. You will be able to demonstrate skills in the leadership and the mentoring of academic staff in research, publication and income generation activities, and also have the ability to work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders.
We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in the broad areas of International Business/International Business Strategy including, but not limited to: the strategy of multinational enterprises (MNEs); MNE HQ-subsidiary relations; internationalisation of SMEs; international competitive relationships between MNEs and local SMEs; international opportunity and capability development; international business ethics or international CSR; research that takes a comparative or institutional perspective; and IB research methods. We welcome candidates with expertise in either quantitative or qualitative approaches.
You will hold a PhD in a relevant area (or equivalent qualifications/experience), will have experience of developing and delivering teaching programmes to ensure consistently high-quality teaching, learning and student support, a significant track record of regular publication of consistently excellent quality outputs and will have experience of building and developing a team of researchers.
It is anticipated that the selection process (presentation to staff and an interview) will be held on Monday 15th November 2021.
