The Auckland Medical Research Foundation (AMRF) was founded in 1955 to provide financial support for medical research. The Foundation recognised the vital need for scientific work being undertaken alongside the heart of the medical community, AMRF are now the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences principal philanthropic supporter and to mark the faculty’s 50th Anniversary in 2018, established a $2.5 million endowed fellowship to support the development of early-career researchers.

The AMRF Senior Research Fellowship will be awarded to a candidate who is capable of independent research activity and who truly exhibits all the leadership attributes required for outstanding medical and health research. Successful applicants will be required to enter into a fixed-term employment contract with the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at the University of Auckland for the term of their Fellowship.

Applicants applying for the AMRF Senior Research Fellowship must submit a copy of the AMRF Senior Research Fellowship application form along with their academic CV and a cover letter identifying an existing senior faculty member, Head of Department or Head of School as a sponsor for the fellowship.
As a part of this application process, you will need to fully cost your salary even if it currently, or will, exceed $100k per annum. If you need assistance with salary and salary-related costs, please speak with your local Research Services Team in the first instance. The level of remuneration including expenses will be determined by the Assessment Panel in consultation with the host.
