An excellent opportunity to join the teaching team on the BSc Psychology (Accelerated Foundation Year) programme.

Your role will be to support teaching, in order to enable students to complete their studies successfully and undertake related course administrative duties as required. Your main responsibility will be preparation and running studying skills focused seminar, teaching, and marking assessment on the Psychology: Core Concepts and Skills module.

The module runs fortnightly on Saturdays, starting on 9 October 2021, and you will be required from 1-2pm.

In addition to the criteria specified in the job pack, the minimum requirements for selection are listed below:

  • A degree in Psychology.
  • Relevant teaching experience, working with adult students within the HE sector.
  • A good understanding of the needs of part-time adult learners and be able to relate well to their individual needs and engage their interest and enthusiasm.
  • Demonstrably effective communication, interpersonal and presentation skills across a range of relevant contexts.
  • A working knowledge of IT including Word, Excel, e-mail and experience of (or willingness to use) Moodle.
  • Particularly able to work both as part of a team and independently as appropriate.
  • Willing to engage in reflective practice.

Please note: candidates need to demonstrate competence or significant potential in all areas.

Remuneration:
Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College (starting rate £ £54.10 per hour inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay) for contact hours worked. This hourly rate is based on the starting point of Grade 6 and is inclusive of a ‘Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier’ which covers preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties in connection with the course.
