Applications are invited to join a team of software developers within the University of Nottingham's Learning Technology Section to develop tools and services that meet the diverse needs of our user community. The purpose of this role is to provide detailed technical analysis and development input to enhance the learning systems in use at The University of Nottingham. These include Moodle, which is the University Virtual Learning Environment and Rogo, our Open Source summative online exams system.
The role holder will work through our backlog of demand requests reviewing user requirements and completing any necessary technical documentation. They will develop prototypes and work with service users to evaluate solutions. These may turn into development projects for changes to our existing systems, adoption of 3rd party tools or may be achieved by using existing technologies at the University e.g. Sharepoint, Office365 or Power Automate. You will need to be equally comfortable writing code (for the LAMP stack), as well as gathering requirements and documenting.
This role is highly collaborative with our service users and you should feel that taking a user-centred design approach is important in your role. The role holder will also oversee the demand management process ensuring a pipeline of ideas for development that meet the strategic needs of the University.
This role is available on a fixed term, full time (36.25 hour) basis until 31st July 2022. Job share arrangements may be considered.
