Location: This position will be based at Singleton Campus, Swansea
ACCELERATE is a collaborative programme delivered in partnership between Swansea University, Cardiff University, University of Wales Trinity Saint David and Life Science Hub Wales funded and supported by Welsh Government, the Welsh European Funding Office and NHS Wales. In partnership, specialist centres hosted at each of the three University partners provide specialist support to collaborative industrial research and innovation projects in the life sciences and health sectors.
Multi-disciplinary teams support the scoping, development, delivery and conclusion of research and innovation projects that aim to bring new products, processes, and services to the marketplace and the NHS to support economic growth, patient benefit and to positively impact patient health and population wellbeing. Working together, this “Team Wales” initiative is demonstrating significant value to the Welsh economy and benefit to the Welsh health and innovation ecosystem. Collaborating with wider initiatives and supporting the sustainability of projects we undertake, Accelerate is improving Wales’ innovation capabilities and capacity by accelerating technology push, creating capacity to address unmet clinical need, and developing assistive technologies to support enhanced quality of life.
Specifically, the Healthcare Technology Centre, is the Swansea University arm of Accelerate and has a team of over 20 staff focussed on research and innovation activities. Our Research & Innovation Technologists and Assistants support a portfolio of impactful life science and health-related projects involving partners from higher education, private sector, other public sector and voluntary organisations and the NHS. The Healthcare Technology is hosted by Swansea University Medical School. Swansea University Medical School is a Top 3 UK medical school. Providing an interdisciplinary approach, we educate and train tomorrow's doctors and life scientists. Offering a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, we rank 1st in the UK for research environment, and 2nd for overall research quality and we collaborate with industry in a spirit of open innovation.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our expanding team to focus on the operational project management of this varied and dynamic project. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, this role will focus on the development and delivery of a portfolio of collaborative research and innovation projects with an industry-relevant focus.
