WMG is a vibrant, cutting-edge research institution at the University of Warwick. We currently have a great opportunity for an IT Support Technician to support the operations of its IT Service provision.
Educated to A level standard or equivalent, you will need to have experience of providing support within a Microsoft Windows desktop environment, ideally gained within a complex IT service environment. An ITIL Foundation level qualification, Microsoft Technical qualification or Microsoft Office specialist qualification would be desirable. You will need technical knowledge of PC hardware and software, especially Windows 10, along with experience of networking, routine systems administration, and experience of working on an IT helpdesk.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure, while maintaining a professional standard are essential for the role, along with a logical approach to diagnosing issues and resolving problems. You will provide a positive, outgoing attitude which demonstrates your passion for delivering high quality face to face customer service aligned with technology delivery within a rapid paced multi-disciplinary environment.
In return we will provide a great range of benefits which include an attractive pension scheme, 26 days holiday plus bank holidays and Christmas closure, some fantastic savings on a wide range of products and services, and excellent learning and development opportunities.
At WMG we are committed to supporting staff to achieve their potential. We currently hold the Athena SWAN Silver Award, and the University of Warwick holds an Institutional Silver Award: a national initiative that recognizes the advancement of gender equality, representation, progression, and success for all in academia. We are supportive of staff with caring responsibilities including a generous maternity/paternity/adoption/parental leave policy, and onsite childcare facilities. We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis, even where a position is advertised as full-time, unless there are operational or other objective reasons why it is not possible to do so.
Full details of the duties and selection criteria for this role can be found in the vacancy advert on the University of Warwick's jobs pages. You will be routed to this when you click on the Apply button.
