Salary: APM Grade 8 £34,804 - £40,322 per annum together with USS Pension benefits, if required (pro rata for part time)

The normal expectation is that the successful applicant will be appointed to the minimum of the scale with annual increments on 1st October each year (subject to completing six months service).

Contract: The position is offered on a full time 1,820 annualised hours basis (equivalent to 35 hours a week) 

Fixed term position until 31/10/2024 (with a view to extend subject to performance review)

Location: The position will be based primarily at the Singleton Campus

Main Purpose of the Post

The Swansea University Football Club (SUFC) are seeking to build upon the integrated structure, programme, environment, and culture to support men’s and women’s players to engage, develop and strive for success through both internal and external football and futsal offers.

The role holder will provide leadership across the football and futsal programmes and will build upon the current SUFC provision and success to date. The role will deliver and embrace Swansea University’s ‘sport for all’ ethos that runs through our current 2020-23 Sport Swansea: Active University Strategy and will operate across all three core strategic pillars:

Inspire – High Performance

Aspire – Recreational / Competitive

Engage – Introductory

Essential Criteria: 

Leadership Values:

  • Demonstratable evidence of creating a culture that delivers successful outcomes through people, developing and challenging teams to succeed and take pride in delivering professional services and solutions.
  • Ability to enable teams to work together and across functions to deliver successful outcomes that exceed the needs and expectations of customers, and in creating environments that demonstrate equality, foster trust, respect and challenge.
  • Demonstratable experience of creating environments that identify, understand and give priority to delivering the needs of the customer, and in motivating and inspiring teams to provide the highest standards of personalised care.

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Football Coaching Qualification or equivalent experience (With aspirations to reach Level 4 Football Coaching Qualification).
  • First Aid Qualification.

Experience:

  • Significant experience of strategic planning and directing a holistic football programme.
  • Proven experience of coaching high-performance football.
  • Proven experience in the development of long-term coaching programmes.
  • Experience of domestic and international talent search and recruitment to proactively attract talent.
